Bulgaria finds itself between the poles of the ancient world, Slavic traditions, Islamic influences, and communist legacies. Using different, personally selected subjects, we would like to focus on a complex country in the southeast of Europe.

Since 1 May 2004 Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary belong to the European Union. Romania and Bulgaria followed in 1. January 2007. The integration of the remaining Balkan States is planned in the long term. Apart from personal, the enlargement of the European Community was the reason for forming a group and for developing a project covering several different aspects.
